With a height of 12 metres and a diameter of 77 metres, the glass dome is the eye-catcher of the redevelopment of EDGE Amsterdam West. The spectacular dome transforms the previously unused outdoor space into the new heart of the building. The asymmetrical glass dome has no fewer than 728 panes measuring 3.5 by 2.8 and weighing 350 kg each. The steel structure consists of composite V-shaped plate beams two metres high and connecting uniform columns. Kingspan Light + Air developed a new profile to accommodate tolerances in all directions.
